At least 2,000 cotton bags will be distributed to first-year students attending the University of Surrey.
Two thousand identical shopping bags hitting the university and Guildford area at the same time is bound to attract a great deal of attention. With over 10,035 undergraduates, around 4,000 postgraduates and 2,800 research and teaching staff, the potential audience 'on campus' alone is close to 17,000. Retailers offering a unique and online shopping experience may also be attracted by the significant proportion of students from overseas.
