At least 2,000 cotton bags will be distributed to first-year students attending the University of Oxford.
Two thousand identical shopping bags hitting the colleges and Oxford area at the same time is bound to attract a great deal of attention. With almost 16,700 undergraduates, over 9,200 postgraduates and 11,900 research and teaching staff, the potential audience 'on campus' alone is close to 38,000. Retailers offering a unique and online shopping experience may also be attracted by the high proportion of students from overseas, particularly the USA, China, Germany and India.
